Obituary

Manville, NJ – Marcella A. "Sally" (Komiskey) Sopko, 91, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset. Born in Tunnel City, WI, daughter of the late Martin and Caroline (Gasper) Komiskey, she moved to Manville in 1946.

Sally was the Executive Assistant and Vice President of Sopko Moving and Storage in Manville which was established in 1946 with her husband and became an agent for Wheaton Van Lines in 1957. Her beloved husband Steve had affectionately given her the nickname Sally during WWII. She loved her flower garden and took great pride in raising her family. She was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Manville.

Besides her parents, Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband, Steve C. Sopko in 2003; brothers Levern, Harold, Louis and Jerome; sisters Dorothy and Rita and beloved grandson Ryan Sopko.

Sally leaves behind her seven devoted children, Martin, Sylvester, Stephen, Edward, William, Teresa M. Olszyk and Margaret A. Sopko-McConnell. She will be deeply missed by her dear sister Vonnie Myers; twenty two cherished grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church in Manville on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. followed by committal words and interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sally's name and mailed to the Sopko family at 15 North 17th Avenue, Manville, NJ 08835 for the National Foundation of Transplants organization.
