Marie Alice (née Haraschak) Kassick, age 81, passed on to eternal life on Monday, June 23, 2025, at All American Assisted Living in Hillsborough, New Jersey, surrounded by loving family. Born and raised in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (née Stock) Haraschak. A 1962 graduate of West Hazleton High School, Marie began her professional journey as an X-ray technician at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, New Jersey. She later worked as an insurance coordinator and spent many years handling medical billing and coding for the doctors of Somerset Orthopedic Associates in Bridgewater.

Marie married Michael E. Kassick on July 24, 1965, and together they made their home in Manville, New Jersey, where they raised their four sons—the center of her life—and shared 60 years of love and partnership. After beginning her career in healthcare, Marie chose to stay home to raise her children, later retiring to further devote herself to her family, crafts, and garden.

Marie found joy in quilting, knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint, spending many peaceful hours with her crafts. She had a deep love for gardening and took pride in sharing her harvest with family and friends. An avid reader, Marie was rarely without a book nearby, and she treasured the quiet moments spent reading. Marie took pride in raising her family and always made sure they were well fed and well loved. In later life, Marie cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. One of her greatest pleasures was vacationing at the family beach house in Ocean City, Maryland.

Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Michael E. Kassick Sr, on July 15, 2024; and two brothers, Henry Haraschak and Richard Haraschak.

Marie leaves behind, and will be deeply missed by, her four loving sons: Michael E. Kassick, Jr. and his spouse, Michelle, of Hillsborough, New Jersey;  Andrew J. Kassick of Washington, D.C.; Timothy R. Kassick and his spouse, Valerie, of Piscataway, New Jersey; and Joseph M. Kassick and his spouse, Craig Kapp, of New Hope, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her dear brother, Robert "Babe" Haraschak; four cherished grandchildren, Michael Edward Kassick III, Jordan Michele Kassick, Timothy Richard Kassick, Jr., and April Therese Kassick; and two treasured great-grandchildren, Chloe Lynn Price and Emma Bree Price.

As she often reminded us with a smile, she was "practically perfect in every way."

Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial visitation on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835. A prayer service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by clergy from Christ the Redeemer Parish. In honor of Marie, the family kindly asks guests to wear something purple—her favorite color—if possible.
