Obituary

Somerville, NJ- Marjorie M. (Hilgerson) Williams, 94, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ daughter of the late Walter and Irene (Clayton) Hilgerson, she was raised in Jersey City, moved to Neshanic, NJ and then settled in Somerville.

Marjorie was a homemaker and an avid gardener who loved sharing the fruits of her labor with others. Besides tending to her flowers, she also enjoyed sewing along with arts & crafts. She was a member of the Frenchtown-Milford VFW Auxiliary #7857. Marjorie's greatest joy was raising her family and being part of her grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives.

Besides her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul J. Williams; and by five sisters and a brother.

Marjorie leaves behind her loving children, daughter, Nancy Peters and her husband Richard of Milford, NJ, Steve Williams and his wife Jane of Toms River, NJ, and Janet Burris and her husband Joseph of Manville. She will also be deeply missed by five cherished grandchildren, Jason Peters and his wife Olivia, Kevin Peters and his wife Kristine, Vanessa and her husband Adam Podalak, Emily Williams, and Bonnie Burris; six precious great grandchildren, Carly, Dylan, Evan, Savannah, Madison, and Amelia; along with many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral service at the funeral home will begin at 11:00 a.m with  Reverend Joan Priest of the United Reformed Church of Somerville officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at Neshanic Cemetery, 688 Amwell Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.
