Manville, NJ- Mary L. (Barbieri) Salerno, 90, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Hillsborough. Born in Manville, daughter of the late Nicola Antonio and Maria (Grazia) Barbieri, she was a lifelong resident of Manville prior to residing at Foothill Acres in 2007.



Mary retired in 1985 from Foodtown in Manville where she was a bookkeeper. She was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Mary took great pride in her home and garden and enjoyed cooking family dinners. She also enjoyed extended visits by her grandchildren.



Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Carmen Anthony Salerno on September 2, 1978 and by three siblings, Josephine Daniele, Edith Natale and Filomena "Fanny" Bernabiti.



Mary is survived by her daughter Linda "Lin" M. and her husband J. Richard Raines of Hickory, NC and son Gerald A. Salerno of Key West, FL. She will be deeply missed by five cherished grandchildren, Gina Salerno, Nicholas Salerno, Anthony Salerno, Lindsay Craig and Angela Raines and an adored great grandson Carlo Salerno.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, July 1 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, July 2 from 10:30-11:00 a.m.



Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. Mary's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Foothill Acres for making her a part of their family and to Grace Healthcare Services for the exceptional care they provide.
