Rahway, NJ- Melissa M. (Goins) Mendez, 36, entered into eternal life on Thursday, November 16, 2017. Born in Elizabeth, NJ and raised in Rahway, NJ, Melissa is the daughter of Terry (Creter) Goins and Fred M. Goins.

Melissa took great pride in caring for her four children and was very active in their lives, serving as the PTA President with the Rahway School System. She always saw the good in people and enjoyed helping in her community, especially during times of need.

Melissa is predeceased by her loving paternal grandmother, Sylvia Goins.

Melissa is survived by her devoted mother and father; cherished children, Amanda Briceno, Ashley Mendez, Matthew Mendez, and Ryan Mendez; sister, Jennifer Downing; brother, David Goins; step-father, Andrew Sculack; ex-husband, Jose Mendez; niece, Jasmine Downing; and fiancé, Cliff Williams. She will be deeply missed by many wonderful friends.
