Melvin D. Hosgood, 84, entered into eternal life at his home on Saturday, September 8, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mount Carmel, PA, son of the late William and Catherine M. (Romberger) Hosgood, he moved to Manville in 1956.

After thirty-five years of employment at Johns Manville Corporation, Melvin retired as a Laborer. In his earlier years, Melvin was an avid outdoorsman having a love for fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, Melvin is predeceased by his wife Mildred (Lucas) Hosgood who passed away in 2004 and by his brother Harold Hosgood.

Melvin leaves behind his four loving children; sons Melvin R. of Manville and David W. of Sarasota, FL and daughters Carol A. Painter and her husband Dave of Manville and Diane Wariner and her husband Dave of South Bound Brook He will be deeply missed by his nine loving grandchildren and his former daughter-in-law Patricia Hosgood of Manville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, September 13 from 5-8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13 beginning at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. At the family's request disposition will be held privately.
