Manville, NJ—Michael Charles Connolly, 46, entered eternal life, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville surrounded by loving family. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of Manville.



Michael was a graduate of Manville High School Class of 1986. He was employed by the Somerset County Bridge Department for thirty years as an equipment operator. He was a member of the Camplain Volunteer Fire Company #2 in Manville for the past thirty years, serving offices of captain, lieutenant and financial secretary. Michael will be missed by his firefighter brothers and sisters. He enjoyed gardening and lawn care and was always proud to have the greenest lawn on the block. He especially enjoyed hanging out in his "man cave" with family and friends and spending summer vacations in Ocean City, MD with family. Michael was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Somerville.

Michael was predeceased by his father, Edward Connolly in 2009. He is survived by his loving mother, Donna J. (Gaber) Connolly of Manville; dear sister, Corinna and her husband Bruce Ahart; cherished nieces, Mikayla and Carlee whom he loved dearly and was like a second father to them; cherished aunts, Dorothy and her husband Jack Pannone and Stephanie Gaber; and two loving cousins, Justin Gaber and Christy LoMedico and her husband Enzo and their children, Christopher and Marissa; many friends; and by his two adored feline friends, Jake and Ralphie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, March 7 from 5-9 p.m. and on Saturday, March 8 from 9:45-10:15 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8 beginning 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Somerville. At the family's request, disposition will be private.
