Michael honorably served his country with the United States Army from 1956 to 1959, having served in Panama. He retired in 1995, after nobly serving his community for over 25 years as a patrolman with the Manville Police Department, during which time he served time as PBA president Local 236. Michael was president of the Manville High School Quarterback Club from 1988-1991 and 1994-1995 and was very instrumental in helping to acquire the lighting for the Manville High School football complex. Some of his favorite things to do were vacationing at their beach house in Ocean City, Maryland, watching the UConn Huskies woman's basketball team, watching woman's college softball games, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He loved his dogs.
