Obituary

Manville, NJ- Michael M. Medvetz, 80, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Raritan Health & Extended Care Center in Raritan, NJ where he was a client for the past year and a half. Born in Oneida, PA, son of the late Steven and Catherine (Palipchak) Medvetz, Michael resided in Manville since 1964.



Michael was honorably discharged from the United States Army having faithfully served his country as a private first class during the Korean War. Employment throughout Michael's life included: chemical production worker with American Cyanamid in Bound Brook, NJ for nineteen years; janitor at Weston School in Manville, NJ for two years; maintenance worker for GSA Depot in Belle Mead, NJ for eight years having retired on December 31, 1994 as a maintenance worker for the Trenton Courthouse. After retirement, he served as a crossing guard in Manville, NJ for ten years. Michael was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh Post #2290 Veterans of Foreign Wars located in Manville, NJ.

Michael leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara A. (Durchin) Medvetz with whom he joined hands in marriage on September 5, 1959; two loving children: daughter and son-in-law Donna Maria & Michael W. Meusz of Manville, NJ; son Mark M. Medvetz of Manville, NJ; five sisters and four brothers. He will be deeply missed by his cherished grandson Michael George Meusz of Philadelphia, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, August 22nd from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, August 23rd from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23rd beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. Committal words and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Kunegunda Cemetery in McAdoo, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Michael's memory to: American Cancer Society, 7 Ridgedale Avenue Suite 103, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927.
