Manville, NJ –Michael Angelo "Sonny" Franzoso, 86, entered into eternal life on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at home with loving family by his side.  Born in Manville, son of the late Angelo and Mildred (nee Marsicano) Franzso, Michael was a lifelong resident of Manville.

Michael faithfully served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean War.  While abroad he served on the USS Midway, the lead ship of her class.  After honorable discharge from service duty, Sonny was owner and operator of several businesses near his hometown area.  He was presently employed at Adesa in Manville as an auction lot attendant.  In his spare time, Sonny enjoyed tending to his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends.  When amongst family and friends he was a great storyteller.  Fishing was also a favorite pastime of his.

Besides his parents, Michael was predeceased by a brother and four sisters.

Sonny is survived by his devoted wife.  He will be deeply missed by six loving children, Michael T. Franzoso of Piscataway, NJ, Jackie and her husband Henry Skorupa of Manville, Jeanie and her husband Pete Scheilling, Mark Franzoso and his wife Maria of Manville, Sharon Rodriguez, and William "Bill" Mushock; a dear sister, Shirley Fulgenzi; a dear brother, Robert Franzoso; thirteen cherished grandchildren; eight adored great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
