Middlesex, NJ- Myra (Olshanetska) Stachiv, 90, entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at her home with her devoted husband by her side. Born in Lviv, Ukraine, daughter of the late Polikarp and Ahapia (Kohut) Olshanetsky, Myra came to the United States from Canada in 1959 and settled to Middlesex in 1964.

Myra retired after 18 years with American Standard in Piscataway where she was employed as a clerk. She was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough and a member of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America. Myra researched the original designs of traditional Ukrainian embroidery and recreated them. Her works were exhibited in the US, Canada and South America and can be seen today at the Ukrainian Museum in New York City where they are a part of their permanent collection.

Myra is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Dennis L. Stachiv. She will be missed by many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral liturgy on Friday, December 10th at 9:00 a.m. at St Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough with Fr. Roman officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery in South Bound Brook.
