Obituary

Hawley, PA- Nicholas "Nick" D. Longo, Sr., 79, entered into eternal life on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pa. Born in Hazelton, PA, son of the late Frank and Theresa (Potenza) Longo, he spent most of his life in Manville retiring to Hawley, PA.

Nick served his country with the United States Air Force from 1953-1956 during the Korean War. He retired from Johns Manville where he was a supervisor and a member of their Quarter Century Club. While in Manville Nick was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church and upon his retirement was a devout parishioner at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Hawley, PA. Nick was an avid bowler and was active with MYAL; coaching Pop Warner Football and Little League Baseball. He was a member of Hawley Senior Citizens Club, Inc. and the Senior Citizens of Golden Age Club in Milford, PA. Nick enjoyed boating on Lake Wallenpaupack and spending winters in Florida.



Besides his parents, Nick was predeceased by his beloved wife Gertrude "Dolly" (Terracciano) Longo on April 25, 2005 and daughter Cynthia on April 15, 2008.

Nick will be deeply missed by two loving sons, Nicholas D. Longo, Jr. and his wife Judy of Washington Township, NJ and Frank Longo of Browns Mills, NJ; dear sister Anna Jean Seker and her husband Robert of Freehold, NJ; many nieces and nephews and his beloved canine friend, Honey Bunny.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, October 12 from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 13 from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13 beginning 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Nick will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
