Obituary

Manville, NJ-  Nora Edith (Hensley) Burris, 80, entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Tacoma, Virginia, daughter of Emory and  Susie (Collins) Hensley, she grew up in Virginia, and lived in Boynton Beach, FL with her companion, Cliff Montross for more than twenty years before settling to Manville early this year.

Nora worked in the food industry for many years.  With a heart of pure gold, she is fondly remembered for putting others first.  She was a quiet, gentle soul who enjoyed traveling, especially cruising.  Nora is remembered for creating fun and crafty ornaments out of yarn.  Born a natural caregiver, Nora adored spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She especially loved her Pomeranian dog, Buddy.

Besides her parents, Nora is predeceased by her son, Andrew Burris who died as a baby in 1961.

Nora is survived by her loving children, Joseph Burris and wife Janet of Manville, Polly Jane Nowak of Kentucky, Diana Simons and husband Randy of Kentucky, Brian Burris of Kentucky and Jim Hensley of Virginia.  She will be deeply missed by her four beloved grandchildren, Bonnie Burris, Herb Nowak, Jennifer Terry, and Andrew Simons.  She also leaves behind five adored great grandchildren, Savannah Schilling, Memphis Nowak, Lukas Simons, Adrian Terry, and Andre Terry.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, June 2  from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Paul Janssen of the United Reformed Church of Somerville.  The disposition will be private.
