Bridgewater, NJ—Olga (Kaminska) Lysyj, 91, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater, NJ, with loving family by her side. Born in Brody, Ukraine, daughter of the late John and Anna (Romaniuk) Kaminsky, Olga came to the United Sates in 1950, lived in New York City, NY, Raritan, NJ, and Hillsborough, NJ before settling in Bridgewater, NJ.
Olga retired in 1987 after fifteen years of dedicated employment with Chanel in Piscataway, NJ where she was a line assembly person. Olga loved to embroider, cross stitch, dance, and entertain her friends. Family and friends looked forward to Olga's pierogis, stuffed cabbage, and especially, her delicacy, Chruschik cookies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ.
Besides her parents, Olga was predeceased by her husband, Michael Lysyj on October 28, 1998; she was also predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Olga is survived by three loving children, Robert Lysyj and his wife Kathy of Hillsborough, Irene and her husband JK Todd of Piscataway, and Luba and her husband Steve Matis of Flemington, NJ. She will be deeply missed by eight cherished grandchildren, Kyra Tighe, Michael Lysyj, Laura Lysyj, John Todd, Jr, Anna Todd, Stephen Matis, Craig Matis and Alex Matis; and six adored great grandchildren, Aubree Tighe, Kristina Todd, John Todd III, Mason Matis, Evan Matis and the newest addition, Aaden Tighe. She also leaves behind a beloved sister in France and a brother in Poland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, March 5 from 4-8 p.m. with the Parastas service at 4:30 p.m. and on Monday, March 6 from 8:45-9:15 a.m.
Funeral services will begin Monday, March 6 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough. Committal words and interment will follow at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Cemetery in South Bound Brook, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in Olga's name to St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund, 1700 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835, or Compassionate Care Hospice, 9 Lamington Road, Branchburg, NJ 08876, or a charity of your choice.
