Obituary

Manville, NJ- Patricia Ann "Patty" Smith) Hosgood, 53, entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at home with loving family by her side. Born in Somerville, daughter of the late Robert U. and Cecilia G. (Paulson) Smith, she was raised in Hillsborough before settling to Manville over 30 years ago.

Although Patty had countless qualities, one word to best describe her is selflessness. She constantly took care of others before herself. She loved caring for her children, grandchild and nieces and nephews alike. She volunteered for countless charities, fundraising events, women shelters and community causes. She worked as an Events Coordinator at the Manville VFW Post #2290 for many years. Not enough can be stated about the countless hours she spent helping others and the numerous people whose lives she has impacted in so many special ways. Patty was a communicant of Christ the Redeemer Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Manville.

Beside her parents, Patty is predeceased by her dear siblings; Michael, Ronald and Pam.

Patty is survived by her devoted son, Christopher Hosgood and his wife Jamie of Manville, daughter Nicole Smith of Manville and son James Hosgood of Manville. She will be deeply missed by her loving siblings; Diana Clancy of Bridgewater, Joan Blue of Lebanon, Lisa Mascola of Somerville and Abram Smith of St. Pete, FL. She will be greatly missed by her cherished granddaughter; Adeline Hosgood and will never be forgotten by her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Tuesday, November 24 from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 25 from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. Disposition and committal words will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery in Flemington, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patty's name to the Food Bank Network of Somerset County in care of 13 Rebels P.O. Box 149, Bound Brook NJ 08805.
