Manville, NJ- Peter Chester, Jr., 76, entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Somerset Valley Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Bridgewater, NJ. Born in Bound Brook, NJ, son of the late Peter and Colona (Howell) Chester, Sr., he resided in Budd Lake, NJ for a few years as a child, then Flagtown, NJ before settling to Manville in 1968.



Peter faithfully served his country with the United States Navy. He retired in 1999 after forty-two years of dedicated employment with Mack Trucks in Allentown, PA where he was a specifications analyst. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 677.



Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his brother, Charles Chester.



Peter is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Joan A. (Botsko) Chester with whom he married on November 2, 1957; two loving children, Peter Chester III and his wife Patricia of Ware, MA, and Lorraine and her husband Gordon Engel of Hackettstown, NJ; and dear sister, Anna Martin. He will be deeply missed by a cherished grandson, Gabriel Chester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, March 19 from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday, March 20 from 11-11:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20 beginning 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
