Manville, NJ – Peter Oram, 86, entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset with his loving family by his side. Born in Larksville, PA to Joseph and Eva (Pehosh) Oram, his family moved to Croatia in 1932 at age 3 ½ before returning to the United States in 1970.
Peter was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish, (Sacred Heart Church) in Manville. After returning to the United States, Peter worked as a cook for both Aramack Food service and Macke Food Service from which he retired. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies such as wood working, gardening and making wine. Ultimately, at the end of the day, he loved spending time with his adored grandchildren. While growing up in Croatia he farmed and cared for many horses which fueled his love of riding. He was a firemen and eventually Mayor of his town, Antunovac. He was extremely involved in the community there, always helping others.
Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his sister, Maria Crnkovich.
Peter is survived by his devoted wife Maria (Nociar) Oram with whom he joined hands in marriage on November 18, 1951; loving daughter Maria Page and her husband Dr. Roger Page of Princeton; loving son Joseph Oram and his wife Carol of Manville; four cherished grandchildren; Christina (Page) Stasio and her husband Robert, Michael Page and his wife Elizabeth Gott, Nicole Oram and her fiancé Steve Bradley and Stephen Oram. He will be dearly missed by his dear great granddaughter, Allison Page.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Wednesday, December 2 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, December 3 from 8:00-8:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Church) in Manville. Peter will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
