Hillsborough, NJ – Piotr Szeremeta, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2013. Born in Poland, son of the late Grgerz and Aaniela Szeremeta, he immigrated to the US in 1964 where he lived in Newark until settling to Hillsborough in 1978.

Piotr retired as a mason in 1994 with Local Union #4 of Newark. A former member of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church in Newark, he was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville and belonged to the Hillsborough Senior Citizens. An avid gardener, Piotr could always be found tending to his vegetable gardens and fruit trees and then sharing the fruits of his labor with others.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by four siblings; Jan and Mechal Szeremeta, Zofia Grzybowski and Stefania Bidny.

Piotr is survived by his loving wife Janina (Lebedynska) Szeremeta, whom were married on May 19, 1955 and shared fifty-seven years of marriage together. He also leaves behind his devoted children; daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Richard Yerman of Fremont, CA and son and daughter-in-law Tadeusz and Kim Szeremeta of Hillsborough, dear sister Helena Stojanowska and five adored grandchildren; Matthew, Brent, Allison, Gregory and Mark.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 beginning 8:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville.

Piotr will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery located in Doylestown, PA.
