Manville NJ- Ramona Theresa (nee O'Reilly) Walsh, 98, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at home with loving family by her side. Born in Mount Carmel, PA, daughter of the late Edward and Clara (nee Lachowicz) O'Reilly, she was raised in Mount Carmel, then resided to Manville in 1950 and has been a resident since.
Ramona was a Member of the Top Hatters Women's Club in Manville. She was instrumental in obtaining safe transportation for children to get back and forth to school. She was the first to respond to anyone in need with food and prayers. Ramona was a self-made innovative women. She enjoyed crotchet and cooking and was always generous in all things that she did. She was the original reduce, reuse and recycle woman. Family was always her priority and she was "Mom Mom" to all of her little pilgrims and she always made each feel extra special. She was an animal lover especially to her dogs and she had numerous large ones, but her love was Bruno.
Ramona was a member of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Christ the King Roman Catholic Church) in Manville.
Ramona was predeceased by her husband, Henry Noel Walsh in April of 2009; and two brothers, Robert O'Reilly and Edward O'Reilly.
Ramona will be deeply missed by her loving children, Deborah Ann Bartok and Mark Walsh and his spouse Suzan Rowe; cherished grandchildren, Jason Walsh and his spouse Kendra, Rebecca Walsh O'Donnell and her spouse Hugh, Jessica Walsh Gregg and her spouse Andy, Natasha Pietak Walsh, Jennifer Lynn Bartok, and Kimberly Layne Bartok and her spouse Jungkay Javier; Kimberly and Jennifer's father, Frank Bartok; four adored great grandchildren, Jaxon Walsh, Kendall Walsh, London Walsh, and Madden Leigh O'Donnell; dear brother, James and his spouse Rose O'Reilly; sister-in-law, Polly O'Reilly; daughters-in-law, Cyndi Twigg and Lynn Pietak; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Ramona's family wishes to thank Atlantic Hospice for all the care that they gave to Ramona and to especially thank volunteer Mary Hogarth for her unwavering support to Ramona and family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Ramona on Friday, August 9, from 3-7 p.m. and on Saturday, August 10, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, August 10 at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral mass at Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville. The disposition will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Ramona's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or Memorial Sloan Kettering Research, 136 Mountain View Boulevard, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
