Manville, NJ- Richard H. Pongrazzi, Sr., 77, entered into eternal life on Monday, March 21, 2011 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Born in Hazelton, PA, son of the late August and Rose (Wodjeski) Pongrazzi, he was raised in Nuremberg, PA having resided in Manville most of his life.

Richard was honorably discharged from the United States Army having faithfully served his country as a corporal during the Korean War. After 41 years of employment, Richard retired as a supervisor for Johns Manville in Manville and was a trustee for the Quarter Century Club. He was a communicant of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville, a member of Thomas J. Kavanaugh Post #2290 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Manville, American Legion Post #12 in Somerville and was very active with Boy Scout Troop #193 in Manville. Family was of utmost importance to Richard and he enjoyed going RVing and camping with his grandkids.

Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother Gus Pongrazzi on January 4, 2011.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Rose (Dziedziak) Pongrazzi, three loving children, Richard H. Pongrazzi, Jr. and wife Sharon of Hillsborough, Duane Pongrazzi of Hillsborough, Barbara Geitz and husband Mark of Perkasie, PA, dear sister Mathilda Nuremberg of PA. He will be deeply missed by his four cherished grandchildren, Justin Pongrazzi, Paige Pongrazzi, Lauren Geitz and David Geitz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, N.J. 08835 on Thursday, March 24 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, March 25 from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25 beginning 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 9 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Committal words and interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
