Obituary

Bridgewater, NJ – Roberto Carlos Martinez, 82, entered into eternal life on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.  Born in Cartagena, Columbia, son of the late Roberto Carlos Martinez and Clara Mendez, he settled in Bridgewater, NJ.
Roberto faithfully served his country as a private 1 st class with the United States Army from 1960-1963.  He retired after many years of dedicated employment at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ as a maître d'.  Roberto was fond of traveling and was an avid traveler.  He was a foodie.  Roberto was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, NJ.  A dedicated family man and friend; he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, Roberto was predeceased by his sister, Maria Martinez.
Roberto is survived by his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Marina I. Corrales; four loving children, Carlos M. Martinez and his wife Luz of Bound Brook, NJ, Roberto E. Martinez and his wife Anna of Manville, NJ, Roberto C. Martinez and his wife Juliana of Somerville, and Pilar Martinez and his significant other Roxanne of Nyack, NY; and seven cherished grandchildren.
