Manville, NJ- Sally F. (Katchka) Lisay, 94, entered into eternal life on Wednesday January 4, 2012 at the Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough. Born in Alden, PA to her late parents Stanley and Magdalena (Novak) Katchka, she was a resident of Somerville before settling in Manville in 1945.
Sally retired from Ethicon in Bridgewater as a Swedger, having previously worked at RCA in Bridgewater. She was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville, a member of the Manville Senior Citizens Club, the Lucky 10 Club and Past President of Fire Co. #3 Ladies Auxiliary which she devoted 62 years of service. She was devoted to the Blessed Mother, was a wonderful cook and her family was of the upmost importance to her.
Besides her parents, Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband John R. Lisay Sr. on August 15, 1994; five sisters, Anna Marshall, Helen Kielar, Blanche Madurski, Mary Kazinski and Sophie Krajewski; brother John Katcka and two precious grandchildren, Anthony and Jack DeStefano.
Sally leaves behind to cherish her memory five children, son John R. Lisay Jr. of Manville, daughters Geraldine Klimowich of Manville, Alexandra "Sandy" DeStefano of Whitehouse Station, Sharon Mroz of Manville and Jacqueline Perkins of Flemington. She will be deeply missed by her two dear sisters; Cecelia Smith and Geraldine Tullai; sixteen cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Debbie, Gail, Karen, Michael, Laura, JoAnne, David, Matthew, Jennifer, Bryan, Alissa, Justin, Madison, Katie, and Megan; twenty Great Grandchildren and eleven Great-Great Grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, January 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, January 7 from 8-8:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7 beginning 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Sally will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sally's name to Fire Co. #3, North 8th Ave., Manville, NJ, 08835.
