Manville, NJ- Stanley "Corky" Raczkowski, Sr., 86, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home in Hazlet. Born in Manville, son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Kurlikowska) Raczkowski, he had lived in Manville until 1985, settling to Piscataway.
Corky was a graduate of Bound Brook High School. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during World War II and worked for over forty-five years with American Cyanamid in Bridgewater where he was a boiler maker. Corky was a parishioner of St. Francis Cabrini Parish in Piscataway, a member of the VFW Post #2290 in Manville, a member of the Manville Democratic Club, a member of the Manville Quarterback Club, a member of the Manville Wrestling Club, and having been an avid bowler he was inducted into the Somerset County Bowling Hall of Fame. He loved sports, especially football and baseball, and spending time at the horse track.
Besides his parents, Corky is predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Eleanor (Cocozzelli) Raczkowski; siblings, Lottie Sawicki, Josephine Felice, Chester Raczkowski, and Edward Raczkowski; and brother-in-law, Frank Cocozzelli, Jr.
Corky is survived by his five loving children, Kathy Jones of Maryland and her good friend Paul Masiello, Stanley Jr. and Diane Raczkowski of Colorado, Angela and Kevin O'Gorman of Holmdel, Joseph and Cindy Raczkowski of Pennsauken, and Robert and Lisa (Adam) Raczkowski of Piscataway. He will be deeply missed by nine cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Rebecca Rodriguez, Dawn Raczkowski, Shane Raczkowski, Kyle O'Gorman, Lauren Raczkowski, Sean O'Gorman, Brandon Raczkowski, and Casey O'Gorman; and by four adored great grandchildren, Hallie, McKenzie, Addison, and Kaden Rodriguez.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Wednesday, December 19 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, December 20 from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20 beginning 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 11:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Francis Cabrini Parish in Piscataway. Committal words and entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
