Hillsborough, NJ- Stanley T. Thorjussen, 88, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 21, 2011 at his home in Hillsborough surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Alf and Magda Thorjussen, Stanley settled in Hillsborough 38 years ago.

Stanley was honorably discharged from the United States Army Air Force as a Sergeant, having faithfully served his country during WWII from 1940-1945 to include the battle at Normandy, Northern France. Stanley was a retired firefighter from the New York City Fire Department and an accomplished pilot who loved to take to the skies in his own private single engine plane.

Stanley is predeceased by his beloved wife Adele M. (Reynolds) Thorjussen and sister Edna Andersen.

Stanley leaves behind his loving niece, Lynn R. Finney and husband Steve of Mastic, NY; brother-in-laws Andy Andersen and wife Anne and Jack Reynolds and wife Barbara, along with many cherished nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, February 28 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 1, from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 1 at 10:15 a.m. Stanley will be laid to rest at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown where his dear wife already rests.
