Hillsborough, NJ – Teresa (Trela) Puzio, 83, entered into eternal life on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough. Born in Goscieradow, Poland, daughter of the late Kazimierz and Bronislawa (Slowik) Trela. As a child and youth, Teresa endured her share of hardships, as did so many Poles, during WWII, spending part of her childhood with an aunt in Nazi-occupied Warsaw as that city was persistently bombed and practically leveled to the ground by the end of the war. She immigrated to the United States in 1962 with her husband and young children, and was a lifelong resident of Manville, NJ.
Teresa's last job before retiring was an Assembler Group Leader for Gavin Electronics in Somerville for over 20 years. Her favorite pastime was to cook delicious Polish meals and bake tasty Polish cakes and pastries and she loved tending to her beautiful rose bushes. Teresa was also an accomplished self-taught seamstress, sewing many of her own draperies and altering her own dresses and clothing for her family and friends. She was an avid shopper and collected an extensive wardrobe of elegant dress-wear over the years.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville.
Besides her parents, Teresa was predeceased by her beloved husband Jan T. Puzio in August 22, 2000.
Teresa leaves behind her devoted children, daughter, Maria Ghandour and husband Abraham of Houston, TX and son, Alfred Puzio and his wife Anna of Hillsborough. She will be deeply missed by her dear siblings, Jozef Trela of Szczecin, Poland and Irena Mazurek of Goscieradow, Poland; four cherished grandchildren, Charlie and Sarah Ghandour of Houston, Natalie and Veronica Puzio of Hillsborough. She also leaves behind a favorite niece, Teresa Puzio and husband Konrad of Manville, NJ. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Poland and by other remaining family members and friends here in the United States.
