Somerset, NJ - Theresa (Tessie) Immer, 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.  She was born on May 7, 1925 in Casta, Slovakia. Her parents were John and Mary (nee Kratka) Jakabek.
Her father, John, had immigrated to the US in 1929 to make a better life for his family. The family joined John in New York in 1938.

Tessie was the second of four children. She is predeceased by her brother William and sister Margaret (Margie).  She has one surviving younger sister, Julia of New York.

Theresa married Adolph (Otto) Immer and they moved from NYC to Bound Brook, NJ after WWII. They had a son, Robert (Bobby). Both Otto and Bobby also predeceased Theresa. Theresa was the consummate Jersey girl. She pulled poison ivy with bare arms and loved to eat at the local diners. Her homemade strawberry jam was always shared with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, February 2, from 5-8 p.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church at 98 S 2nd Ave, Manville, NJ 08835 on Saturday, February 3 at 9:00 am and she will be interred at St. Bernard's cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.
