Obituary

Hillsborough, NJ Theresa R. (nee Jasinski) Malafi, 89, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hillsborough, NJ with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (nee Ziemba) Jasinski, she settled to Hillsborough in 1960 and spent the rest of her life there.

Theresa was a bookkeeper for Somerset Technologies in Somerset, NJ. She was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. She was on the PTA of Sacred Heart School and while growing up in Shamokin belonged to the Shamokin Choir of St. Stanislaus Church which she was extremely proud of. Theresa was someone who took great pride in taking care of everyone especially her family whom she loved very much.

Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph T. Malafi who died in 2003; two brothers, Alphonse Jasinski and Theodore Jasinski.

Theresa is survived by two loving daughters, Teresa Malafi of Princeton and Maryann Hartel of North Brunswick. Two cherished grandchildren, Amanda Hartel and Elizabeth Hartel. Theresa is also survived by her sister-in-law's, Vivian Jasinski and Theresa Jasinski along with nieces and nephews, Rosalie Jasinski, Cathy Lukens, Lea Sura, Steven Jasinski, Jennifer Sanders and Ted Jasinski, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Tuesday, October 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 24, 7:30-8:15 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24 beginning at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral literary at Christ the Redeemer Parish ( Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville at 9:00 a.m.  Committal words and entombment will follow at resurrection Cemetery, 899 Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Theresa's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60601.
