Somerville, NJ--Thomas W. Hancorn, Jr., 83, entered eternal life on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Thomas was born in Plainfield, NJ, son of the late Thomas W. and Louise (Blyth) Hancorn, he had resided in Scotch Plains and Fanwood prior to his military service, settling in Somerville.



Before retiring Thomas had worked at the Fanwood Public Works Department as a maintenance worker. He served fourteen years with the United States Air Force and United States Marines with his last acts of duty during the Vietnam War. Thomas was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church in Rocky Hill. He was a member of American Legion Post #12 in Somerville.



Besides his parents, Thomas was predeceased by two brothers, George Hancorn and Allan Hancorn; two step brothers, Richard Bennett and Norman Bennett; three step sisters, Margie Bennett, Elsie Bennett, and Doris Bennett.

Thomas is survived by his loving sister, Charlotte Saylor of Versailles, KY; dear half-brother, Joseph Bennett of Lexington, KY; two dear half-sisters, Linda Croucatr of Winchester, KY and Patricia Cash of Elkton, MD. He will be deeply missed by his dear cousin, Mary O'Grady of Phillipsburg, NJ who was like a sibling to him; and a dear friend, Fr. David Straut of Somerville.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, December 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Funeral services will begin on Monday, December 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. David officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Cemetery in Hillsborough.
