Obituary

Manville, NJ- Vincent J. Zakarzewski, 68, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Born June 30, 1946 in Shamokin, PA to the late Vincent and Gertrude (Purcell) Zakarzewski, Vinnie was raised in Manville, N.J. by the late Stosh and Gertrude Romanoski.

Vincent faithfully served his country in the United States Armed Forces as a radio operator, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. He worked as an electrician for some 30 years with American Cyanamid in Bridgewater N.J. and was a member of the Electrician Union. Vinnie had many passions; traveling with his wife and family, partaking in the offerings of the many Caribbean destinations they explored or sailing his catamaran across numerous lakes and bays, it was always an adventure and a guaranteed memory. Earlier in his life, he always shared his time and knowledge, whether through coaching his son's baseball team or chaperoning a teenage vacation, he always made time for the bettering and helping of others. To know Vinnie is to love Vinnie. Loyal, generous, brave, compassionate and inspiring are just a few words to describe a man who lived a rich life without the monetary wealth, his was priceless, achieved through experience, hard work and the knowledge that he "lived" and made a difference in this world. He enjoyed football, NASCAR, classic automobiles and classic rock, although there was none better than the opportunity to give a lecture to his son and friends. His words are remembered, valued and will be missed. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and loved the outdoors. Vinnie was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Manville

Vinnie leaves behind his devoted wife Maureen (Wassel) Zakarzewski, with whom he joined hands in holy matrimony on July 12, 1969. Reenie and Vinnie have been school sweethearts since 1964 and have been married for 46 years. He will be greatly missed by his loving son Joel and companion Kelly of Manville; siblings Ronald Zakarzewski and wife Barbara of VA, Glenn Zakarzewski and wife Vivian of Manville, Matthew Romanoski and wife Kathy of Somerville and Karen (Romanoski) Cuoco of FL., along with many nieces, nephews and many close, dear friends.

A Memorial Service to honor Vinnie's life will be held at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on a date to be determined.

P.S. Jet, Lei, Jinx, Horsey and Lucy (his pets) are also greatly saddened by Vinnie's death.
