Manville, NJ- Walter Klimowich, 93, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at home with loving family by his side. Born at home in Manville, son of the late Andrew and Ann (nee Petrovich) Klimowich, he was a lifelong resident of Manville.

Walter honorably served his country with the United Sates Navy as seamen from July 15, 1949 to July 15, 1950 and then was recalled from April 6, 1951 to February 24, 1953 during the Korean War. He attended Bound Brook High School. Walter was employed by the Manville Police Department for 29 years as sergeant. He was also employed at Jane B. Engelhard as head of security for 11 years. Walter was a member of the Manville Senior Citizens Club, Veterans of Foreign War Post #2290 as a lifetime member, and the PBA Local #236. He was passionate about time spent with family, especially his children and grandchildren and was always a good father, provider and Husband. He was a poet extraordinaire with smiling blue eyes always wanted to get the last word in.  Walter enjoyed taking His family to Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania and the Jersey Shore. He enjoyed gardening and was a good handyman who could fix and build almost anything.

Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Monahan, Ann Tobias, Olga Gorbatuk, Sophie Sofrinko, and Lovy Rembelias; brother, Michael Klimowich; grandson, Dylan Buffi; and granddaughter, Katherine Buffi.

Walter will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Geraldine M. (nee Lisay) Klimowich who joined hands together in marriage on December 19, 1963; loving children, Debra Buffi of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Gail Buffi and husband Jay of Little Egg Harbor, Karen Chant and her husband John of Deland, FL, and Andrew Klimowich and his wife Janet of Carpenteria, CA; six cherished grandchildren, Tara Bookbinder, Michael Buffi, Rachel Catalano, Keith Drabic, Elizabeth Klimowich, and Hope Klimowich; and twelve adored great grandchildren, Tyler, Carter, Addison, Anthony, Brendan, Sid, Masyn, Brooke, Layia Lei, Isabella, Skyla, and Astra all whom will miss him deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday,  November 17, from 3-7 p.m. and on Monday, November 18, from 8:00-8:30 a.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral mass at Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
