Obituary

Wasylyna "Lena" (Iwasiutyn) Jasinowsky-Pidwirnyj, 89, entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, with her loving family by her side. Born in Zykotyn, Ukraine, daughter of the late Petri J. and Catharinea (Karpuk) Iwasiutyn, Lena came to the United Sates in 1949 settling in Manville.

Lena retired in 1983 after twenty-five years of dedicated employment with RCA in Bridgewater where she was an assembly person and she had worked in the dietary department at Foothill Acres in Hillsborough for about ten years. Lena loved spending time with her grandchildren, being outdoors, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough and a member of the Ukrainian Women's Organization.

Besides her parents, Lena was predeceased by her first husband, Wasyl Jasinowsky in 1966 and her second husband, Oleksa Pidwirnyj on July 24, 2013; her daughter, Anna Glines on January 3, 2009; brothers, Slawko, Michael, Wasyl, Nichola, and Fedor; and sisters, Anna, Sophia, Maria, and Olga.

Lena is survived by her three loving daughters, Myra and her husband Jim Recchia of Fairfield, PA, Oksana and her husband Bob Mastropietro of Ringoes, and Chrystina and her husband Jeff Satanik of Hillsborough. She will be deeply missed by seven cherished grandchildren, James, Cheryl, Kevin, Eric, Jesse, Aimee and Adam; four adored great grandchildren, Devon, Levi, Lindin and Preston; three dear step-grandchildren, Brian, Michael, and Jeff; and a dear step-great grandson Logan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, February 27 from 4-7 p.m. with a Parastas service at 6:00 p.m., and on Friday, February 28 from 8:00-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will begin with the Panachyda service on Friday, February 28 at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough. Committal words and interment will follow at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Cemetery in South Bound Brook. Memorial contributions may be made in Lena's name to St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1700 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835.
