Manville, NJ- William Frederick "Bill" Caswell, Sr., 87, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at home with his loving family at his side. Born in South Plainfield, NJ, son of the late Allen and Dorothy (nee Roseberry) Caswell, he had lived in Piscataway, NJ before settling in Manville in 1969.
Bill faithfully served his country with the United States Army as an E2 Private during the Korean War. Bill was founder and owner of William Caswell & Sons Home Improvements in Manville for over fifty years. He was a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post 2290 in Manville.
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Allen Caswell, Jr., and Frederick Caswell and his sisters, Margaret Ann Caswell and Marlene DeWolfe.
Bill will be missed by his devoted wife of sixty-five years, Lillian (nee Vittor) Caswell with whom he joined hands in marriage on June 27, 1953. He is also survived by seven loving children, Karen Caswell of Orlando, FL, William Caswell, Jr., Thomas Caswell (Roberta) of Bound Brook, NJ, Nancy Fiduk (Frank) of Hillsborough, NJ, Robert Caswell (Sharon) of Mahwah, NJ, Kelly Schreiner (Bob) of Browns Mill, NJ, and Sherry Miller (Dave) of Morgantown, WV; dear siblings, Eleanor Salter, Bob Caswell, Gwen Place, and Gerry Wilson; twenty cherished grandchildren; and ten adored great grandchildren; many dear nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, September 10 from 5-8 p.m. with military honors starting at 6:30 p.m. and a memorial service taking place at 7:00 p.m. with family and friends officiating. Private disposition will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
