William Scott Lyon, 48, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Atlanta, GA, at the age of six, his family moved to Freehold, NJ and he had also resided in East Brunswick before settling to Somerset in 1997.
Scott was a graduate of Freehold Township High School. He was a self-employed electrician having operated Lyon Electric in Somerset. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in New Brunswick and had a passion for animals especially his cats and pugs.
On May 11, 1999 Scott was predeceased by his cherished triplets Duncan, Penelope and Benton and also by his father Fred William Lyon, Jr. in 1989.
Scott leaves behind his beloved wife Joann L. (Benyo) Lyon with whom he joined hands in marriage on July 9, 1994; his loving mother Barbara (Hilsman) Lyon of Bordentown, dear sister Anne E. Lyon and husband Steven Fithian of Bordentown, his adored in-laws, Theresa Lemak and husband Kevin, Debbie Benyo and Diane Lister; three precious nieces Patricia, Stefanie and Allison. He will be deeply missed by his step mother Deborah Lyon, step brother David Lyon and his wife Lyza and their two children Dalylia and Ty.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, September 18 from 2-4 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, September 18 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Hartmut Kramer-Mills of the First Reformed Church in New Brunswick officiating. At the family's request disposition will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Scott's name to ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
